Microphone Pattern Planner

Compare idealized first-order polar patterns and simple stereo-array geometry.

Idealized planning model: these curves do not predict a real microphone, room reflections, proximity effect, phase, off-axis coloration, or frequency-dependent behavior. Stereo cues are free-field estimates, not localization guarantees.

The time cue is Δt = spacing × sin(source angle) ÷ 343 m/s. The intensity cue compares idealized responses at the source angle relative to capsule axes ±½ included angle; values near a null are capped for display.
