Integer normalization divides signed PCM by 2^(bits−1); 8-bit raw bytes are shown as 0…255 and normalized after subtracting 128. IEEE-float samples use 1.0 as the dBFS reference but values may exceed ±1. NaN/Inf values are counted and excluded from finite statistics.
