Room Mode Calculator

Compute the low-frequency standing-wave (room mode) frequencies of a rectangular room — the axial, tangential and oblique modes that cause bass boom and nulls in studios and home theatres. Enter the room's three internal dimensions and the tool lists every mode up to a cutoff, flags clusters where modes pile up (colouration), and gives the Schroeder crossover frequency above which the sound field turns diffuse. The speed of sound is derived from air temperature. Pure JS, in your browser.

axial — one dimension tangential — two dimensions oblique — all three highlighted — cluster within 3 Hz
