Scale & Key Generator
List the notes of a scale or mode in 12-tone equal temperament. Pick a root note and a scale — major, natural / harmonic / melodic minor, the seven church modes (Ionian through Locrian), major and minor pentatonic, blues, whole-tone, and chromatic — and see each note's name, MIDI number, and frequency across one octave, plus the notes' pitch classes. The reference pitch (A4) is adjustable. Pairs with the Note Frequency Calculator. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Each scale is defined by its semitone intervals from the root. The notes use 12-tone equal temperament: f = A4 × 2(midi − 69) / 12, with MIDI note 69 fixed as A4. MIDI note 0 is C-1 and each octave spans 12 semitones; the table covers one octave from the root up to (but not including) the root an octave higher. Everything runs locally — nothing leaves your browser.
