Math and scope: Frequency = reference frequency × 2steps ÷ divisions; cents = steps × 1200 ÷ divisions. “Octave” and numeric step form a coordinate system for non-12 tunings and do not assign conventional note identities. Conventional chromatic note names are shown only for 12-EDO. Wavelength = entered/approximated sound speed ÷ frequency. The dry-air approximation is 331.3 + 0.606 × temperature °C and omits humidity, pressure, gas composition, gradients, rooms, instrument inharmonicity, stretch tuning, temperament history, and transducer response. The oscillator is a simple sine reference, not a calibrated tuner or level source, and is cleaned up when stopped or when the page is left.
